GBA Group expands its laboratory network in Thuringia
Hamburg/Krauthausen, March 12, 2020. With the acquisition of the analytical service laboratory Thüringer Umweltinstitut Henterich, the GBA Group is expanding its regional presence in the eastern part of Germany. Furthermore, in the context of the strategic direction, this move helps the group enhance its capability to provide environmental analysis at a regional level all throughout Germany.
Thüringer Umweltinstitut Henterich GmbH & Co. KG (Thüringer Umweltinstitut) was founded in Krauthausen in 1992 as an environmental laboratory serving the Eisenach region. The company provides a wide analytical spectrum for the appraisal of soil, water, and air to its customers working in the fields of engineering services, utilities, and waste management. The Thüringer Umweltinstitut stands for high-quality service and has built up a very good reputation over the years in Thuringia, Hesse, and Lower Saxony.
Ralf Murzen, Global Head Environment EVP of the GBA Group: “With the laboratory site in Krauthausen, we lay the foundation for further expanding our analytical capacities in Eastern Germany. With its proximity to the existing GBA Group locations in Merseburg and Freiberg, and with the new colleagues gaining access to the GBA Group’s know-how, it opens up new opportunities to provide customers in that region with both routine and special analyses.”
